Lawn Mower Handle Hassle

The lower handle on our old Briggs and Stratton Lawn Mower has broken.  I repaired it before w/ a little "Mr. Sort-Of-Fix-It" duct tape magic, but this time I think it's done for.  Replacement for the "lower handle" is around $40.  Really? For a bent piece of metal? Who knew?  ... Anyone out there have a mower you're about to toss that has a functional handle I could have?  If not, who knows what manner of "Franken-mower" I'll come up with...:)

Update: Dishwasher Washout part 2

(download)

I'm pretty sure I've discovered the problem with our dishwasher (See previous post).  An important part of the "drain pump motor" is broken into two pieces.  Here I am comparing it to an image of the complete part online.  I originally thought this was just a protective cover of some sort. (Mr. Sort-of-Fix-It at work)

A new "drain pump motor" is about $70 to replace, but I may be able to get it cheaper here: Keller Appliance.  Then again, I may just pull the thing and try to rebuild it, myself. You know, since I'm so good with these kinds of things...

You can see one of the little scrapes on my thumb in one of those photos.

Sorry you had to see that. :)

Our dishwasher wasn't draining properly, so I had to go back into "Mr. Sort-of-Fix It" mode.  This process took me two days and involved a scraped thumb, a cut on my finger, some aching back muscles and a new understanding of every pipe, hose, and whatnot under my sink and dishwasher.

At one point, a hose I had reattached popped off and poured water all over the kitchen floor.  After much bruhaha and aggravation (including ruling out multiple "clogged this or that" possibilities and accidentally testing it without hooking the water back up), I've now put the whole thing back together.

I tested it by letting it run through a whole cycle and there is no water on the floor.

That's because it's still in the bottom of the dishwasher.

...Not draining properly.

[!@#%!!]

So yeah.  There you go. :)
